Prophecy
One night in the geisha school, an owl settles on the hole of the tent. The young woman turns pale and closes her eyes, a bell rings, and all sing and shout the prophecy. The legend says a pale, blind, beautiful boy will be born, a most powerful sorcerer “but without line of sight”. The girls draw a name at random, as an oracle would, and give it to him: Dritarashtra.
They sing “Will you be a father?” among lights to the one who left the seed. On the way out, the Turk looks at him with reproach: “¿Qué has hecho, muchacho?” (“What have you done, boy?”).
Role
He is still unborn when the chronicle records him: pure prophecy and omen. He is one of the seeds sown by the Khan’s lineage along the arc, a sorcerer promised to a future the campaign never shows.
