The Chains of the Pact of Subjugation and Domination are magical chains created by a ritual of the Five Iroquois Nations. They turn those chained into demonic creatures and cannot be broken by simple magic. The children of Nicaramsa are bound by them.
They are distinct from the Silver Chains: these are chains of domination, not alliance. The contrast between chains of alliance and chains of subjugation is central to the Crown of the North.
They were revealed in the Battle of the Mill, and later in the rescue of the children.
