Azufre Rojo (“Red Sulphur”) is a scorched alchemist in an ivory mask who wants to go to Sirius as a fire demon. He is present at the Siwa Oasis. His heart of fire is destined to be extracted for ritual purposes.
Multiple gestas
He is not exclusive to Uchronic Paris: he also appears in the gesta (campaign-cycle) of the Templars, one of the figures who cross the shared cosmos. In Uchronic Paris he is linked to the kingdoms of mushrooms and to kings of various kinds who threaten Theodora in Byzantium, acting as an alchemical agent on that political and cosmic board. He has an agenda of his own that transcends gestas.
After his appearance in Uchronic Paris he is wounded, his fate uncertain.

The name may connect to alchemical Red Sulphur (Sulphur Rubeum, the Philosopher’s Stone).
