Description
The Valley of the Tempest, a mountain valley near Nipur–Tres Arroyos, is “Adad’s zone” and keeps that name after its masters are gone. He is depicted advancing on a bull, thunderbolt raised, a dust storm behind him. A hundred years earlier he wielded power over a sandstorm, in a co-government.
Men remember the titans of the storms under two names, Adad and Talos; other worlds gave them other names. From that heritage comes the Storm Soul Taylor carries and invokes when lightning strikes him. In the Valley, the dragon’s servants are “servants of Enlil and lords of Hadad, of the Tempest and of the Sky”.
Role
Among the grievances behind the vengeance against Uruk is the destruction of the shrines of Adad-Talos (and of the Celestial Bulls); the vengeance comes from a priestess of Ishtar.
