US Marshalls are the lawmen of the frontier of Antiterra: violent, mobile officers who carry the law on their own persons, recognizable by dark glasses and cigars. They are “nasty guys who shoot first”.
| Type | Office / lawmen |

| Known members | Orlando; Elias Marshall |
| Spanish entry | US Marshall |
Description
Their look is an aesthetic rather than a uniform: dark glasses, cigars, stillness, waiting outside on the porch. A Marshall on duty does not walk alone: “all the guards there were accompanying the U.S. Marshall”, and local guards fall under his command when he appears. They do not use war magic: “the Marshall does not throw fireballs”.
Their formula of arrest: «Soy oficial de la ley… como Marshall, digo que te quedes quieto, tú.» (“I am an officer of the law… as Marshall, I tell you to stay still, you.“)
Grades
Every Marshall carries a grade on a scale from G5 to G20. Those met in the field are low: “they will come in from G5 to G7, or G7 probably onward, or G8 maybe. That is the level they have. There are up to 20.”
How the law operates
Authority is exercised by declaring the office and giving a direct order, backed by shooting first. They are “police from here” — of the frontier, where law is scarce and is concentrated in a mobile figure with no building or court.
There is also the official mission, which can be questioned: “Marshalls, are you on an official mission?” — implying a Marshall off mission is in a different condition. Some outsiders have been addressed directly as “Marshalls”.
Known Marshalls
- Orlando — “US Marshall of the area”: “a violent and furious guy, but you have to trust him”.
- Elias Marshall — named once; possibly the Marshall a certain company faced.
