The Tartars (tártaros) are peoples or races from the east, with warriors able to take cities. One record describes them as “a mixture of demons but also a great eastern civilization” controlling much of Eurasia, combining Chinese, Mongols and Turks.
More recent records note them as a power threatening war in the east. A low-confidence source reads that the Tartars are themselves hosts pushed by the Hosts of the East.
