In the New World
Chroniclers of the New World speak of “moon gates” in the plural: portals bearing a circle engraved with strange symbols. They work in phases. At incoherent moments a traveler can be lost in the void, and crossing them creates space-time paradoxes that destabilize reality. They serve as access between regions. Who built them, and which moon they follow, is not recorded.
In the Mediterranean
Itineraries of the Mediterranean record a single Gate of the Moon: an important entrance of the city, not far from the Gate of the Sun.

- Whether the city gate is one of the phased portals or only shares the name is unknown.
