The Giants of Patagonia are a people of blue-stone giants in Patagonia and its cordillera, with their own language, children and prisoners, and a constant war against the Pinochotos to the south.

Description

They are stone giants, and the stone is blue. Lowland ones reach four or five meters; the largest live “in the cordillera in the upper part”, only “I think two”. A child is “two and a half meters”. One was “big, bald”, as if “taken out of a forest”.

They go bathed in whale grease and eat roast cooked in it. They sit on the tapulete, a chair the size of a human table for twelve: “a figure rising from a tapulete… that is, a giant”. They carry large mauls; some are called “stone-throwers”.

They speak Giant; some also speak Draconic (“I speak Giant and Draconic, I speak everything”).

War

South of them live the Pinochotos, or “Storm Chileans”, giants of “the Chilean side”. The war is constant and fills the far south of the world; the Giants hold at least one Pinochoto prisoner. Decisions come at night: “tonight, war. Preferably a hunt.” They move in convoys and fight beside a dragon, dividing targets with it.

Cosmology

“Our north is the south.” Recorded with it, unexplained: “Canopus in trees” and “and come upward”.
