Description

They are “little creatures” in “pinkish-orange clothing”, with a gaze that “radiates cold, calculating intelligence”. Their size shows in their weapons (“a small short sword”, “a little lance, short”) and beside the neighboring tribal creatures, who are “quite a bit taller than you”. They have two pairs of arms: the “upper arms” hold the weapon; the “lower arms are human hands with fine dexterity”.

Abilities

“This kind of little creature is very good at mining; they know how.” With their lower hands they “perform arcane magic and forge runes”. No one else in the region is recorded as holding these skills.

Village and neighbors

They live near a village and enter it “now and then” to steal food: minor, sustained theft that the village tolerates. The region also holds a larger tribal creature with ponytail and lance, smelling “strong, dry, like winds, onion”; a creature called a wendigo; and tigers seen at night.

Open questions

  • Their numbers, and whether they live in groups, burrows or a mine of their own; for whom they forge runes.
  • Whether the pinkish-orange clothing is a uniform, faction mark or custom.
  • Their relation to the tribal creatures.
  • Whether “wendigo” names one of these creatures or a third thing; whether the tigers are real fauna or a fireside warning.
  • Their skin, exact size and voice.
