Description

The records call it a sacred object able to teleport through time and to be fired toward multiple points in time; it can also leave signs. Journeys of at least ten thousand years are attributed to it. Arabic characters on its casing (aina, “high sorcery”) mark dates like itinerary notches: 1055, 1120, 1870, 1886, 1889, 1901, 2046. Its working parts are fire, a heart, and a gem or core declared dangerous that can aim at stars. It can be used or stolen.

Conflicting accounts

  • Some passages treat it as a single sacred Bengala; others speak of “bengalas” or “fires of Bengala” that can be aimed and activated.
