| Other names | Corsakov; Count Corsaco; the Dark Lord of Sea Hill |
| Spanish entry | Vladimir von Korsakov |
Nature
Korsakov is an echo of Strahd von Zarovich, dark lord of Barovia, but distinct from the other such echo, Caladan, lord of Valakhan of the Mist: two parallel manifestations of the same archetype.
The pact with Arian
Arian, the 25th sun, promised Korsakov a property in Sigil — Sea Hill, far from the city’s temple district — ceded in perpetuity. Arian rarely intervenes directly in the affairs of Sigil. The pact is a perpetual property contract, of the same kind as the location contracts at the heart of the Dispute of the Sigil Contracts.
History
As “Count Corsaco”, the vampire noble and “Dark Lord”, he was behind the plot of the Dispute of the Sigil Contracts, in which fragmented location contracts were contested among factions and opened portals (to Alfheim, to the Labyrinth). His vassal Sagittarius died burned by white magic at its close; Korsakov himself did not fall, and his domain and pact survived.
