Urcalia — “the land of visions” — is the living spirit of Antiterra: a telluric angel imprisoned by Graz’zt, whose crusts and platforms are the straitjacket that holds it.

Description
Each seam of the world is an invisible city; each sewn arm, a zodiacal platform (Game of Shadows); each guardian, a jailer. Perceiving her requires a special organ of vision. The fifty-seven Invisible Cities were the points through which she could have been moved. Freeing her before the world struck the Band was one of the two plans of the woman who returned from the plane of time. In this light the map of the Invisible Cities is not a catalogue of marvels but the joints of an imprisoned body.
