History
Marzocco can be invoked: Luca persuades another to accompany him and together they call it. It kills Irina, a peasant infiltrated among the servants of the Cerchi, leaving claw marks on her split body and her beautiful face contorted.
The chronicle then reports its death as accomplished fact: Marzocco ha muerto (“Marzocco is dead”). With the lion fallen, the thread of the eye and the towers opens. The name returns as a surname (Arnolfo di Marzocco) and as a title (último Marzocco, “last Marzocco”).
