The Great Grimoire (Gran Grimonio) is a mythical book, the “book of life and death,” that has emerged in other infernal expulsions. It can “save the world, or lose it.”
Maristo actively searches for it, to honor his master Kisándal, whose funeral was being held in a cathedral that is now infernal.
