Fanchon is a damned soul in the second circle of the Descent. She is 62 years old and skeletal in appearance, and is mentioned only briefly during the exploration.
She belongs to the domain of the Tempestari, the perpetual storm that batters the damned of the circle of lust, where figures such as Paolo and Francesca also dwell. Minos, judge of the circle, passed her sentence. She ranks among the Lost Ones: souls with no possible return to the threshold.
