The School of Illusion teaches the art of instantaneous transit: crossing from one place, name or memory to another without traversing the distance between. It has no fixed seat.

Grades
- First grade: travel between known places.
- Second grade: between places barely heard of.
- Third grade (few): between places that do not yet exist.
Initiates are recognized by blue tones at the edges of vision. When an aspirant begins to see them, the School holds that he is ready for the first rite; when he sees them without wanting to, for the second; when he misses them after they stop, he no longer needs the School.
Paulus of Alexandria is an initiate of the lower (first) grade.
Relationship with Sigil
Some doctrinaires hold that the School is a minor faction among those that govern Sigil, the City of Doors, and that its initiates are ultimately apprentices of the Lady of Pain; she does not answer direct questions.
