Dionysus is an entity of the Invisible Cities chronicle: the counterface of Apollo. He appears not as a god but as a face.
At the temple door, before the staff of Barbatos, it is noted that what now embodies is the counterface of Apollo, the one known as Dionysus. It is added that there may be many other partes jodidas (“fucked-up parts”): the duality is not of two.
The pair returns tied to earthly power. The head of the Medici, Lorenzo the Magnificent, is named “el Dionisio Sol Magnífico” (“the Dionysus Sun Magnificent”).
