Hooded Demon (Androgynous Fire/Scale Form) is a demonic being: either a manifestation of Hugues de Payens or a separate entity linked to him.

Description

  • Perpetually hooded, with wings of black fire.
  • Androgynous: upper body fire, lower body scales, with a serpentine tail. Feathers and scales, and “sulfur comes off” it.
  • Joined back to back to a second demon.
  • Bears a reliquary mace carrying a Veracruz fragment.
  • Abilities: flight, blasphemy, three blows per attack. It tried to dispel magic against the Patriarch and failed.

History

On the day of the Templar bell, the bell’s Interdict burned it to the bone. After further combat wounds, uncounted, it was badly damaged but escaped to Zone 5, where it remains alive. It is a secondary antagonist still active, and a reencounter in Zone 5 is possible.

Connection to the Descent

It foreshadows the condemnation of Ärsvan to Hell, and may be a remnant infernal creature.
