Infernal Corporeality is the condition of damned beings who, unlike typical souls, have physical bodies in Hell. It defines the characters of the first circle.

Nature
- Embodied damned can be “en cuarto y también acá” (“in the room and also here”), in the cycle and in Hell at the same time.
- They have physical limitations (illness, weakness). Example: the False Prophet, with “brittle bones, a very fragile, feeble body.”
- Corporeality marks layers of damnation: some of the damned are pure spirits, others are embodied.
Effects
- Physical negotiation, such as appearing before a tribunal.
- Susceptibility to physical damage and death.
- Simultaneous connection to the earthly world (the cycle).
