Description
The plate shows it at dusk. Low graves stand in rows, each headstone carved with the Templar cross. A small chapel has a cross on its pediment, and a Templar standard (a white cross on a light field) hangs from the wall.
In the foreground is a half-dug open grave. A Templar monk in a white habit prays beside the pit, head bowed, hands joined. In the background is the silhouette of Jerusalem with the golden Dome, near the enclosure but not inside it.
