Louis-Dominique Cartouche (1693–1721) is a legendary thief of Belle Époque Paris. In the fiction of Uchronic Paris he is “an important figure of literature who died horribly but first had a great University of Thieves”, a reference to mentoring in thievery.

The main tavern of the cycle bears his name (“Tuyo Cartouche” or a variant). It is a meeting place for the companions, the opening scene of a cycle and a hub of the Parisian underworld.

He is a real historical figure adapted to the uchronic universe.
