Athas is the name of the devastated world of Andgara after a thousand years of misfortune, when the elemental powers divided among themselves the sources of power the gods no longer held.
Graz’zt tried to control what he took for an unguarded region. This brought Kosuth (Torregrises) onto the scene, and Kosuth came to regard Athas as his own private primary yard.
