The Gem (la gema) names an object of power in Antiterra and, in Vala, a loose label for valuable stones.

In Antiterra
- A gem the Manifestation pursues as an object of power.
- Another gem, possibly the same, is divided in three: Seth keeps one part inside a tarraje, and the Great Khan holds the other two.
- A third record calls it “the gem that is the extracted heart,” “intense red.”
- A faint note says it is kept “inside the platform game,” not in any known physical place.
- Whether these name one stone is not stated.
In Vala
- Gems as objects of economic and presumably magical value; prizes in the tower trials; gems set in a statue’s eyes, appraised at about a thousand coins each; a gem whose light shines in the sky as part of a constellation.
- One gem must be used or placed on a pedestal to fulfill its function. Another, possibly the same, can be given only to a king.
- An important gem held in the hand is called “the stain of the order” (la mancha de la orden); whether this means a stone, a shame or both is unclear.
