Emily Larson is a lamia, a creature that feeds on magical hearts, disguised as a young woman from a well-off Michigan family; she sucked out the heart of her boyfriend, Francis Le Pen.

| Spanish entry | Emily Larson |
Description
A pretty young blonde, still finishing her major, from a family in shipyards and timber. She met Le Pen while studying in Chicago; he had come to the United States to work for IBM.
Her body shows three anomalies, each with a mundane excuse: a missing finger (“I lost a finger at work”), prescribed anesthesia, and pregnancy. Two incompatible forms are recorded beneath the disguise: the pregnant young woman and an “eight-legged spider”. She is also seen “through the little screen”, and met directly, “eating a hamburger with you”.
Method
She hunts by intimacy: her prey is the partner she lives with, and her youth, beauty and wealthy family hide the threat. Her recorded prey is the magical heart; her boyfriend is the only documented case. Le Pen worked for the Genesis Foundation and left a letter of resignation that survives him, so she links the Foundation, IBM and a magical predation.
She lodges at a boarding house (“staying at the boarding house of the…”, the owners’ name cut off) while belonging to the Larson shipyard family. Her known range is Chicago and Michigan.
Open questions
- Her true form, and whether the spider description belongs to her or to Rachel Betta, is unresolved.
- Whose boarding house it is, and where, is unknown.
- What she is pregnant with, and whether it relates to the heart, is unknown; so is what a magical heart is.
- Whether the Larson family exists, or she replaced a real Emily Larson, and whether she chose a Foundation employee on purpose, is unknown.
- What the screen shows, and whether the finger and anesthesia are alibis or real, is unknown.
