Origin

Threadbare yellow robes; a drawn insignia of leaf, star, hammer and sickle. From Hanoi, a far Eastern island coveted by its neighbors. Left in a monastery as a child, he learned from Grillo Aleph the way of the serpent: to become serpent king and free one’s people. The master read the Tablets of Chaos and, before the secret of the void, said only “Jundun”.

In meditation the air opened: “This is a game of shadows. There are guardians and there are thresholds. One of the threshold dies, another of the threshold is born. Step forward”. His master would wait beyond. Crossing, he saw enormous birds destroying everything, and much fire.

History

  • Captured by minotaurs, he awaited the pendulum in a cult-hall cage until the wary company (“the last one who joined us nearly killed us all”) freed him.
  • He fought with a staff, holding doorways. A prophetess read his palm: his life line was cut.
  • A night procession with torches and a coffin was led by Silas, the companion the group had executed, now a herald of darkness with his skeleton outside his flesh. He charged his replacement, who struck his head off.
  • For death and sacrilege in their would-be redeemer’s church, corruption marked each with a letter. He asked for his: M, for madness, and could no longer regulate his emotions.
  • He stayed to the end, waking condemned with the rest; Belial’s harvest took him too.
