The Herding Devils (Diablos Pastores) are four devils of the third circle who herd escaped souls after the fall of Minos. They fly, can speak, and use picks as weapons.
They are the infernal equivalent of shepherds, with damned souls as the “sheep.” They are a direct consequence of the defeat of Minos: the souls freed by that fall are being herded again by new overseers. The companions defeat them in combat in the air and on the ground.
