Stone Gargoyle is a stone statue in the shape of a gargoyle dog-demon, with horns, folded wings, glowing eyes and stone claws that can break free of the pedestal. It comes to life as an animated guardian in the final chamber of the false Master’s journey.

Abilities
- Spits acid, strikes with claws and bite, and flies once its wings unfold.
- Resists ordinary damage.
Role
It is a statue first and an animated guardian after, guarding the central pedestal of the Labyrinth. It is the third demonic creature of the concentric defense: fire demon, then the Minotaur, then the Gargoyle.
Conflicting accounts
- A larger gargoyle is described as “dragonic and scaly” and smelling of sulfur. It may be a polymorphic form of the same creature, or two distinct gargoyles.
