The Triple King is a serpentine entity from the depths of the inner lakes of Antiterra, patron of the Borgia pact that drives the Italian arc of Invisible Cities. “The serpent is many things.”

The Borgia pact
Through a fey intermediary, it sealed the contract: kill Savonarola before the papal election, a death with no possible return, the body taken “to someone to seal the cycle that invoked it”. In exchange, a sign in the sky would consecrate the Spanish cardinal aspiring to the throne, and the son handed over — “the coyote” (Coyote), a former infernal lieutenant — would be recognized as nephew and set at the head of the Vatican’s armed force. The fey spoke its name three times — something like “Elierno”, then Triple King. To one who resisted, it showed the scratched wall of the millennial prisoner: signing is not optional.
