Maidens / Women of the Tree are young figures, possibly magical illusions or captive beings, who inhabit the surroundings of the Tree.
They appear adorned with golden apples. Under certain effects of suggestion their appearance becomes almost ethereal: “bombachitas rosadas hechas de pétalo” (“pink panties made of petals”). One of them escaped in the past, according to an obscure reference.
They embody the erotic and passionate temptation around the Tree. It is said that whoever lingers among them loses the desire to go on.
